New Goal
My original goal after finally moving out of my parent's house and working full-time once again was to rent for a year and then buy a place in the city. I hate the fact that I really just throw out rent money each month and don't have anything to show for it.
Well, I got a mentor at work and talked to some other people in the marketing department and it seems like the best way for me to get ahead is to get my masters. AND the best way for me to get the most bang for my buck, would be to quit my job, go to school full-time, and then either try to go back to my current company or get recruited someplace else. If I quit and go to school full-time, I think I will be able to concentrate more and also I will enjoy a jump in salary along with a possible signing bonus.
So this is my new goal. I spent the day today looking for apartments (it looks like I will continue to rent OR I guess I could always move back with the rents as I go to school, but that would be a last resort). I also filled out the little online form to get some information on the Kellogg School of Business.
The apartment search is starting to give me a headache so I guess I will start looking for GMAT books. I should really study a little before I take the test. I can't believe I've been out of school for almost 7 years now. That's a scary thought, but I was actually getting excited reading about the curriculum online and the different courses.
So once again I put my love life on the backburner to pursue other goals. Well hopefully grad school will also be a good place to … meet that goal.
